Jim Rohn
Greetings! I am currently completing my studies in Cyber Security and Forensics at Murdoch University and am eager to enter the cybersecurity workforce full-time. Growing up in Western Australia and completing my education here, including my Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), I’ve benefited from a strong foundation in a supportive learning environment.
My coursework at Murdoch University is deeply rooted in a passion for protecting digital environments. Through hands-on learning and in-depth study, I’ve developed skills in network security, digital forensics, and incident response. The ever-evolving nature of cybersecurity continues to motivate me to stay informed on the latest threats and technologies, preparing me to make meaningful contributions in the field.
Alongside my studies, I have gained real-world experience working part-time in a pharmacy, where I’ve strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills. This role has taught me the importance of adaptability and client-focused service, qualities I’m excited to bring into a cybersecurity role.
My mixed Australian and Filipino heritage is a source of pride and broadens my perspective in both personal and professional contexts. Embracing cultural diversity allows me to connect with individuals from varied backgrounds—a valuable skill as I enter a field where collaboration and diverse perspectives are essential.
With a solid academic foundation, practical experience, and a diverse outlook, I am enthusiastic about stepping into the cybersecurity workforce and contributing to a dynamic team.
For over seven years, I’ve dedicated myself to a part-time role in the pharmacy industry, a commitment that began in high school and has continued seamlessly through my university studies. This experience, although part-time and within a specialized field, has been pivotal in developing a versatile skill set that I can apply across various professional environments.
Long-Term Commitment:
Starting my journey in the pharmacy industry as a high school student, I have consistently upheld my responsibilities throughout my academic career. This long-term commitment reflects my reliability, strong work ethic, and dedication—qualities I bring to every aspect of my professional life. It’s a testament to my ability to balance responsibilities and maintain focus over extended periods.
Skill Development Across Domains:
While my primary experience is in the pharmacy sector, the skills I’ve gained extend beyond it. Communication has been essential, from interacting with customers to collaborating with colleagues and clearly conveying information. This skill is invaluable in any setting, enabling effective collaboration and ensuring that interactions are purposeful and precise.
Through my role, I have also honed strong problem-solving skills. Whether assisting customers with product selection or addressing inventory challenges, I’ve developed an adaptive approach to identifying issues and creating practical solutions. This mindset is universally valuable, allowing me to navigate complex situations in diverse work environments.
Time Management and Organization:
Balancing academic responsibilities with my pharmacy role has instilled in me a disciplined approach to time management and prioritization. Coordinating coursework, shift schedules, and personal commitments has taught me to manage my time efficiently and maintain productivity, even under demanding circumstances.
Customer Service Excellence:
Customer service is at the core of the pharmacy industry, and I’ve learned to deliver high-quality service with empathy and professionalism. Addressing the needs of diverse clients has enhanced my adaptability and customer-centered approach—qualities that are critical in any client-facing role.
